The JUNTE Field Kit emphasizes a sensorial research approach— focusing particularly on listening, seeing and touching on the land. The kit includes a viewfinder, texture templates to be used for rubbings and a set of prompts for the participants.

This kit was prepared and used by JUNTE for a community-oriented somatic research on La Loma in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, in 2024 as part of community research phase for a future construction of an art and recreation center on this land.

While walking in the landscape, be conscious of your three senses: sight, touch, hearing, guiding your observations. Use your viewfinder to frame hidden moments. Feel the texture of things and create impressions as a visual guide of your walk. Listen to the landscape and transform what you hear into traces, words or forms.
